THE DIVINE NECTAR

What nourishes life?

In the Vedic tradition, soma is a sacred plant and ritual drink, later understood in yogic and Tantric traditions as an inner nectar of bliss and rejuvenation, closely associated with amrita, the nectar of immortality.

In the Zoroastrian tradition of ancient Persia, haoma is soma's Indo-Iranian counterpart, revered as both a sacred plant and divine presence.

And in the Andean mystical tradition, sami is understood as a refined, life-giving cosmic energy experienced through relationship with the natural world.

Though distinct in meaning and origin, these traditions share an appreciation for the sacred, life-giving qualities of existence—and the possibility of experiencing them directly.

This divine nectar is found in the vitality of plants, the pleasure of inhabiting the body, sunlight and clean water, deep rest, beauty and belonging.

So much of what sustains life is freely given. Yet in a culture focused on striving, producing and achieving, it's easy to overlook the abundance already present.

The art of receiving is a practice of slowing down, opening the senses and delighting in life's gifts—without feeling the need to earn or repay them. From this recognition, gratitude naturally arises, along with the desire to give in turn. This is how the nectar keeps flowing.

AN EMBODIED DEVOTIONAL PATH

  • Yoga & Somatic Practice
Slow down enough to feel what your body is telling you. Through movement, breath, nervous system attunement and deep rest, we return to sensation and ease.

  • Relational Herbalism & Medicine Making
Meet the plants as living green allies. Learn the old ways of crafting medicines for resilience, balance and vitality, while cultivating reciprocity with the ecosystems we belong to.

  • Seasonal & Earth-Based Ritual
The rhythms of the earth offer an ancient map for our own lives. Seasonal ritual helps us mark thresholds and honor cycles of rest and emergence.

  • Community & Connection
Something changes when we come together with intention. There is deep healing in being witnessed and restored in the company of others without having to perform or produce.

ROOTED IN THE ANCIENT BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS

A women’s retreat sanctuary, feminine mystery school and temple of Earth magic. Most of our retreats and gatherings take place in the mountains of Western North Carolina—among the oldest on Earth and home to one of the most botanically diverse temperate forests in the world. Here, the land is part of the practice.

Walk the land. Sit beside the fire. Drink tea made from plants gathered nearby. Move, breathe, rest and remember yourself as part of the living world.
